MASERATI INDY 1970 (A)
INDY
Vehicle Description
This Maserati is a lovely example and it drives superb!
Manufactured and delivered to Durban in 1969, to a professional South African basket ball player. The Maserati Indy was his vehicle of choice, as it was the only Italian sports car of the time that could fit a 7' 2'' tall male in it.
Within the paper work is a South African registration document with owner details from 1987, and also paperwork regarding South African registration. The Maserati was then imported back into England, where it was sold to a Dental Surgeon in 1988 and it lived with him until 2022.
Owners manual, parts manual and diagrams are present.
The current V5 is also present and states that it has only had 2 registered owners since importation into the UK.
The V5 document is registered as historic, therefore benefitting from tax and MOT exemption.
There's also a few older style V5 logbooks within the paperwork.
The last gentleman owner has been registered since December 1988.
The Maserati had a full valuation inspection in October 2019, where the classic was valued at around £70,000.
In March 2022, there is an invoice for a total of £2,496.07, when the vehicle had new manifolds fitted.
In April 2021, there's an invoice for £743.70, when a new steering column gaiter and track rod end gaiter was fitted and in September 2020, there's an invoice for £3,343.63. These were all carried out by Maserati.
There's also a lot more maintenance and service invoices and hand written maintenance notes dating back to 1996.
A letter within the paper work from the long standing owner, explains why he loves the Indy so much and explains that it has visited 'most parts of Europe in recent years' and one spring 'clocked 2,000 KM of Scandinavian veldt.'
Lots of old MOT certificates also included, one dating back to 1988 and a tax disc dated 2002 is also with the history folder.
